Product Specific
Why are keto items so expensive? If you are new to a low carb lifestyle, you may be wondering why it is so expensive! Low carb/keto baking uses a variety of specialty and hard to find ingredients. Keto baking is also rather temperamental. The example I commonly use to illustrate the significant difference in traditional baking vs. keto baking is this:
A 5lb bag of While Lily All Purpose Flour at Walmart costs $2.78
A 3lb bag of Blue Diamond Almond Flour at Sam's Club costs $13.44
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nestle Toll House 12oz Bag of Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips costs $2.48
While a 7oz bag of Lily's Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips costs $4.97
What about allergies? We list all our ingredients and potential allergens on our packaging and our website listings. Because nuts are very prevalent in Keto cooking, we strongly recommend that those with sensitivities/allergies to nuts to avoid purchasing our products.
What types of flours do you use? We primarily use almond flour and coconut flour in our baking.
What types of sweeteners do you use? We use a wide variety of sweeteners in our items. Erythritol, Allulose, Monk Fruit, Stevia and Kabocha Extract are the primary sweeteners we use. All of our sweeteners are naturally derived and none are considered artificial. As some people respond differently to various keto sweeteners, we provide an ingredient listing with each of our products so you can make informed choices regarding the sweeteners you consume.
Are your items Gluten Free? Yes! We source only gluten free ingredients and bake in a dedicated gluten free kitchen.
Do you use mixes to make any of your products? Absolutely not! All of our items are hand made from scratch in our kitchen. No pre-purchased mixes here!
What about preservatives? We do not add preservatives to our products. The only preservatives included would be those contained in the products we use or those that are naturally occurring.
How long do your items last? Generally speaking, we recommend that our items be consumed within 3-5 days of purchase. As with many products, refrigeration (if appropriate) may increase the life of the product.
